It appears that the Baltic design field is booming and coming to the United States. This was evidenced when several Baltic design companies attended the New York trade show NOW this month.
According to the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), the Baltic design field is booming and coming to the United States. And the trend is ‘green.’ Think shoes made from pineapple leaves and furniture crafted from volcanic basalt.
On August 14, the chamber held a reception for the attendees. Global Commerce Education was there, along with the Ambassador of Latvia, the Consul General of Estonia and the representative for the Consulate General of Lithuania in New York. In addition, several Baltic companies doing business in the U.S. came to share inspiration and advice with their fellow designers.
Several participants indicated a need for guidance as they navigate the complex process of entering the U.S. market. The good news - the resources were there.
Not only did the ambassador and consulate representatives pledge their assistance, but both BACC and GCE shared plans for the Masterclass offered in Vilnius and Tallinn in early October, as well as the upcoming Baltic New York Accelerator program designed for companies interested in taking the next step into the U.S. market.
Seems like our Baltic friends will be well-served.
